One layer card

Today on the Ai Blog Thursday's Challenge
is to make a one layer card....Here's mine:
This was totally out of my comfort zone because I usually use lots of layers.

First I stamped the image on a white card front and then again on scrap paper
which I cut out to make a mask.
then I had to think of something to do with all that intimidating empty white space.
I remembered seeing a Tutorial on Pinterest about their case it was sun this case let's just  assume  that one candle is putting out a heck of alot of light!...Anyhow if you would like to try this technique you can find it here:
instead of ink, I used big suprise there
The rest of the card was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol.
You can't see it in the picture, but I used Glossy Accents on the cake frosting...makes it look good enough to eat!.....and there is glitter in the candle  and I added some bling to the ladies outfits.
Hope you like it....thanks for looking!

Sweet Slice of Summer

I'm getting ready to go to Denise's weekend crop at Zincks...

This is one of the new paper piecings I'm taking to sell.
I can relate to him because I can't eat anything without dripping
it down the front of me !!!

Here's a sample page I worked up to put in the idea album...

If you like this and want to make one you can find the pattern at

OK...I must quit playing and start packing.
because ..of course...I must take everything I own to this weekend crop because I have not planed ahead and so I have no idea what I might need!
I have , however, got the CHOCOLATE already packed....LOL!

My Idea of Fishing!

I made this card  for a challenge on the Ai Blog.

I like making the image extend outside the background circle.
You can do this when you're cutting the circle, but doing it by paper piecing the images that extend past the circle is easier.  I opt for easier every time!

Here's how...just stamp the image on different colored backgrounds and then cut them apart.
Like this:

Then you glue them back on the original image... when cutting out the pieces,
cut so you see the black line makes for a better looking image. Lines that were too thin to cut the fishing line....
I drew  back in with a black marker....I used a Zig Millennium
size gives you a very fine line.
Give it a try!

It's going to take me another week just to clean up the mess i've made in my craft room!
