tag card...

Today's challenge on Splitcoast Stamper is to use tags.
Here's mine:

The black background panel was embossed using a folder from Darice.
I had stamped a panel of flowers for another card ( these were left over) and so I cut it into three parts, thinking I would use three tags horizontally up the right side of the card; however when I put
the first tag on the card I liked it all by itself.

When I orginally stamped the flowers I colored them with a marker and a water pen, thus the watercolor look. If you've never tried this it's really easy:
smear marker on acrylic block
pick up the ink with the waterbrush
paint flower squeezing a little to release water to mix with the ink
don't forget to leave some white spaces!

Here's some of the supplies I used:

To finish I cut the corners off the flower strip and punched a hole to make the tag then added ribbons .I love that curly ribbon ...it's from creative impressions.

better with age.....

This is the card I created for todays Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.
Stephanie chose the store "Bella Soleil" and from there I picked this as my inspiration:
http://www.bellasoleil.com/servlet/the-1630/Tuscan-Wine-Rack-Holder/Detail

I really fell in love with the Tuscan flavor...the rich colors and the stucco textures!

.....so now I just had to figure out how to get that look with paper.
Here's what I did:
With my inspiration piece printed out in front of me, I picked out the colors I needed from my overflowing scrap files ( love using scraps!) then they needed to be yucky smucked ... those are my own terms...could you guess! To do this I put a lot of ink on an acrylic block then scrunched a plastic bag that happened to be nearby and dabbed some of the ink off the block , then stamped the paper.

This worked but I ended up cutting out the middle man and just stamping on the paper with the scrunched plastic bag dipped in different colors of ink. This was fun and messy and ya sure didn't have to worry about messin it up...because that's what you're trying to do!

Next I cut the scraps into 3/4" by 3 1/2" strips.

To get them to look old I used Tim Holtz's Distress ink called Vintage Photo...my friend Nancy told me how to make a dauber out of rolled up panty hose...works like a charm!

To finish I arranged the strips ...sticking four to the card front and mounting the other five strips on pop dots over top of them. The stamps are from www.skippingstonesdesign.com
Coloring the wine glass just a little bit with prismacolor pencils and adding some cool fiber and The card was done....Would I want to do 60 of these?...no, but I sure did enjoy this one!

Here's the inside:

Hope you enjoyed this post....

Merry Christmas!

I'm playing along with the color challenge on Splitcoast today.
Two shades of pink and limeaid green..,.this is what I came up with.

First I stamped ...using the stamp-a-ma-jig.... the Merry Christmas from Stampin' Up's Hand-Penned Holidays set.

Then I wanted to score diagonal lines so I marked them on the back....I was going to score the entire surface...but, I like the way it looked only with half a card front done....so that's the way I left it.

I used my favorite snowflake die from My Favorite Things, and cut them out of the darker pink.
added a little bit of bling and this card was done....pretty easy...Yea, one more christmas card done!

Happy Everything!

This is the card I made for the friday challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.
The challenge was called " just around the corner" ---which meant, dig out the 'ole corner rounder and use it !

I used square punches (1 3/8" and 1 1/4") and rounded the opposite corners of each square.
Added a tiny flower punch,  some shinny black pearls and  the stamp I just got from paper smooches.
Easy Peasy!

Now, making this card took a really long time in my craft room, because first I had to clear off enough space on my desk to work! Here's what I mean:

Autumn Splendor

Today I'm wishing everyone a Happy Fall.
...and it's really hard not to add " Ya'll " on to that!

The technique used in this card is called Thumping.
Thumping is adding more color to your image before stamping
by tapping a darker colored marker over an inked image.
You can check out Beate"s tutorial on splitcoast stampers here:

I used a leaf stamp from PSX ....stamped with early expresso ink,
thumped with alway's artichoke, dusty durango, crushed curry, and cherry cobbler
Stampin' Up markers.

The Autumn Splendor ribbon was perfect on this project....yea! I'm finally using up some of my stash!

Thanks for stopping by.
Till next time,

SMILE

Hi!  Today I'm playing along with Sunday's Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers.
The featured stamper is Angela R. Her gallery is full of awesome cards... I chose to case this one: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2234324?&cat=500&ppuser=71773

Here's what my card looks like:

I loved the look of the cut out letters, however I chose to cut out the word smile...then instead of embossing chevrons, I used my score pad to emboss lines. That way I could control where they went. I printed the words on the computer..... now I bought a stamp that says the same thing....but do you think I could find it??? of course not!
If you want the lines to be raised on the front be sure and score on the back.

I then cut this front panel to 5&1/4" by 4"....before mounting  it on a card base (of the same color)
I glued a strip of designer paper  on the front of the card under where the cutout letters would be
then I mounted the front of the card base with pop dots.

The inside is pretty plain...
just some edge inking and a few little flowers cut out from the designer paper.
This way it could be for Birthdays or just saying Hi , or whatever you need.

Thanks for stopping by.

Till next time,
Doni

George
This is my cat, George
he's helping me in my craft room today!

This is what we're working onfor the Color Challenge on Split Coast Stampers
The challenge today was to use the colors Basic Grey, Chocolate Chip and Gumball Green.
The optional dessert this week was to stamp your own patterened paper.

Here's what I used to stamp the background:

The bear was paper pieced...I stamped him on Chocolate Chip cardstock ..then cut him out.
The heart was stamped like in the picture below and then cut out ad added to the bear.

did you notice the three green dots  under the happy birthday?
The dots in the background stamp are the same size as the punches from  a
regular size paper punch....hummmm... lots of creative possibilities are comming to mind.

Thanks for stopping by...
till next time,
