Retirement

This week, the Art Impressions Blog has a challenge to turn
your negative pieces from punches or die-cuts into  positive artwork!

This is the card I'm submitting:

I began by cutting out the words HAPPY RETIREMENT with my Silhouette.
this is a picture of my computer screen:

Once it was cut out I threw away the letters and was left with the negative space.
I used this piece of cardstock as my card front panel.

After stamping the Ai guy, I colored him with copics and
did some extra shading with prismacolor pencils.
Then I popped the panel up over some really cute brown gingham plaid paper.
Maybe you can see the dimension a little better here:

The negative spaces from the cut out letters bothered me without the centers in the A,P's and R's,
so I rescued them from the trash and stuck them to the gingham paper under the letters.

Had fun today, hope you did too!

till next time,
Doni
