Hi! Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend.
Today the SCS Inspiration Challenge is from "Jennspendants"on Etsy.
I chose this bracelet as my inspiration:
To start I needed to stamp just one lily, whereas my stamp has many blooms.
to do this I put scotch tape over everything but the one Lily , inked it up...actually remembered to remove the tape and then stamped it on X-Press it card stock.
At first I tried coloring it with watercolors, but that didn't work out so well.
Then I tried copic markers and I liked the results much better.
I used R81, RV13, RV55, Y18 , and N2
It still didn't look finished...sometimes these card have a mind of their own!...
In the back of my mind I was thinking about yesterdays SCS Mix-Ability Challenge
which was to have a smooth surface and a rough serface.
I looked over at my tool caddy and saw the metal ruler which had the perfect size circle in the top
and decided to hand emboss circles and that would qualify as a rough surface!
This was easy to do..just turn the card face down on a soft surface
( I used a piece of craft foam from Michaels) and
rub the stylis gently around the circle opening.
I'm glad I used Copics because they tend to soak through to the back of the
paper and that made it easy to know where to put the circles.
I finished the card by lightly sponging black over the embossing and the panel edges.
Then I used Glaze gloss ove the Lily.
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this!
Here's a couple of other cards I did this week:
Till next time,
