I got a new stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, so I'm inking it up
to enter it in this weeks Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Challenge.
The challenge was to use embellishments.
I tend to do clean and simple designs but it was fun to dress this one up a bit.
Here's a picture of how I started:
I colored her using the colors in the stripe paper ( love these bright colors against the black)
Then I wanted to use my circle nestabilities to cut her out, but I wanted the table skirt to be outside the circle. There are lots of tutorials on this technique...but here are the key points:
1. the die goes cutting edge down on the image.
2. lightly draw around the outside circle edge.
3. mark the inside circle edge beside the part of the image you want to hang outside the circle.
4. cut out the part of the image that hangs out...
cutting up just a little past the inside circle line
(see in the photo where the tip of the scissors are)
5.Put the die cutting edge down on the image
and lift the part you cut out so that its over top the metal circle.
6. cut
I've done this wrong a bunch of times, so often I'll cut it out before I send a lot of time coloring!!
till next time,
Doni
