Less is More

This is the sketch on the Less is More Challenge Blog this week:
I made two cards:

This one I made first.  I sponged the circle with Vintage photo Distress Ink,
then added a black die cut flourish...stamped a Verve sentiment and thought I was done.
But I just wasn't happy with it, so I set it aside and did another card ( the one below).
Meanwhile, I was talking to my daughter and she was telling me about how very sick one of
their cats when I added the die cut cat it pulled it all together and now I like it!
For this next card , I cut out a circle from watercolor paper ( love the texture) and mounted it over a sponged and stamped background and added the sentiment (from Stampin up's Teeny Tiny Wishes)
on a separate piece of paper.

Mojo Monday

Here's today's sketch:

and here's the card I made:
I wanted to try out the new Verve stamps I just got called "Circular Sayings".
I used it as the center with the My Favorite Things Die-namic  die called
Perfect Petal Trio" I used only the large petal flower. I think they look pretty good together.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Fall Blessings

There is a nip in the air...can it be fall?
This weeks Less is More challenge is to use felt or fabric.
I had bought these canvas tags awhile ago and hadn't used them yet,
so this was the perfect opportunity.
The card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4"
I used Ranger Distress ink- vintage photo for the stamping and the sponging.
The canvas tag was attached with a copper square brad...I used a tiny paper punch to punch through the canvas first which made it much easier.
then I added three tiny brown beads around the sentiment.
I've had this stamp ever since the early days when I first opened The Scrapbook Shop,
it's from a company called  PSX.
The sentiment is from the greenhouse 1212 set by Technique Tuesday.
Diana and I Skyped  while we crafted yesterday. I made these two cards:

Both of these are sketch challenges from Viva La Verve Challenge Blog.

This week friends and I met at Archiver's for an afternoon
 of scrapbooking and card making.
While looking around, I fell in love with one of their sample cards....
so  of course I had to buy the stamp and make my own.
Since the sample was so awesome I pretty much just totally copied it, but, hey... that's why they make samples...right?
Here's the supplies I used:
The stamp is from a company called Northwoods Rubber Stamps, Inc.
There is black bottle is sugar coating  from doodlebug, super fine crystal glitter from who knows where, yellow stickles and copic markers.
Here's the card:
and a closeup:
This card is really, really sparkily in real life!
Thanks for stopping by.

Simon Says Stamp!

On the Simon Says Stamp Blog they have a Wednesday Challenge.
This is the card I made to enter:
This week’s challenge is to  help celebrate STAMPtember® by creating a project that uses any product Simon Says Stamp carries in their online store!
I chose to use the  Furry Cat & Box 3x4 clear stamp set by Simon Says Stamp!
The cute layout is from the Wednesday Sketch Challenge on SplitcoastStampers.
It's always nice when you can kill two birds with one stone!
I'm off to enjoy some of this beautiful sunshine!

MOJO Monday

This is today's sketch:
...and here's my card:
I had to change up today's sketch just a bit because I wanted to use that great plaid
paper and that piece was all I had I used what I had!
The olive banner was cut from corrugated paper. I used the computer to print the sentiment and then  stamped the leaf on some basic grey paper, fussy cut it out and added it to the panel.
I'll soon be outside raking up fall's blessings...we have two huge maple trees out front!

Had enough time to do this super simple card for the Splitcoaststampers CAS237 challenge.
The challenge was to use a border I grabbed my favorite one and made this card:
Halloween will be here before ya know it!
