Less is More- Twine

It's almost time for the trick or treaters to come,
so this will be a quick post.
On the Less is More blog, the challenge for this week is to use string or twine.
  I used Bakers twine.
Earlier in the day I made this card for todays Inspiration challenge on SplitCoastStampers:
Thanks for looking!

Sitting Elf

This is the card I made for The Featured Stamper Challenge
on SplitCoastStampers.
I love coloring with my copics, but I get so involved that I lose track of time!
Is that a good thing or not?
Hey, chores will still be there when I'm done....right? right!
Anyhow, here's the copics I used:
E00, E11
R20, R17, R29' R49, R59
G02, G09,G17
Thanks for stopping by.

Less is More- Trees

HI! I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday!
Today's theme is TREES on the Less is More Challenge Blog.
I just got this cardinal in trees stamp
( it's by a company called Northwoods Rubber Stamps).
This card really looks alot better in person... I put a touch of superfine glitter
here and there on the trees and some super fine red glitter on the cardinal.
For some reason that neat sparkly look just does not photograph well!
To start with I stamped the image on a white card front and colored it
 with my copics (E-11, B91, C2, R49).
Then I cut  a piece of navy blue textured cardstock
just a little bit smaller than the card front and used
my nestabilities oval to cut out a window.
I used a white prismacolor pencil to outline the window
and to draw a line  quarter inch in from the edge..
I used colored pencil instead of the white uniball pen
because it's a softer look and besides if I screwed it up you can erase colored pencil!
Next I popped the navy panel up  using thin pop dots.
I colored and glittered another cardinal and popped it over the background one.
It still didn't look "done" so I stamped Merry Christmas
(from My Favorite Things- Christmas ornaments & dies Set),
cut it into a banner and popped it up under the cut out window...Done!
Thanks for Looking!

Viva La Verve

Happy Friday!
This is the Viva La Verve Sketch for week 4 in October:
Here's what I did with it:
The background paper is from Reminisce ( it's been in my stash for a really long time!)
I love the bright primary colors...they just make me happy!
Thanks for looking.

Peace, Joy, Love

Hello! I hope your day is going well!
I didn't get to my craft room this morning, but I did find play time this afternoon.
This card fits the SplitcoastStampers Way to Use It Challenge for today
and also the Simon says Stamp Blog Wednesday Challenge
which is to make a Christmas / Holiday creation.
Just love these new paper smooches holiday stamps!
I did emboss the Season's Greetings so that it would be nice and bright white.
The ways to use it challenge is to use chipboard to create a frame or embellishment.
I only had chipboard letters, so I cut 6 red banners all the same size and glued them together.
This is what it looks like from the side:
Thanks for stopping by.

Mojo Monday 315

Hi !
Another Monday ....already!  Here's the sketch:

and here's my take on it:
I used a cute gingerbread stamp from The Cats Pajamas.
I'm not good at mass production, so this year I think everyone will
each get a different Christmas Card....hopefully!
Thanks for stopping by.

Less is More....one more time!

Boy do I feel stupid!
If I would have read the challenge all the way through, I would have realized this weeks challenge was about  ONE LAYER WITCHES AND WIZARDS!....so Christmas doesn't count!...duh!
Here's my re-do:
I love Stella! She's a digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps.
I use copics to color with and the way to prevent the computer ink from smearing is to hit it with the heat gun as it is coming out of the printer.. This heat sets the image .
Have a fun day!
till next time,
( and hopefully it won't be again today!)

Less is more

This week's  Less is More  challenge is to make a one layer card.
Since I need to get started on some Christmas Cards, here's what I did:
I think I'll go back and put Glossy accents on the red hearts....then try and keep the cats from
walking on it till it dries!
I almost like the inside better :
Because this is a one layer card,
I drew two lines and colored them in with a green copic marker!
Believe me, that won't be happening again!
Way easier  to layer a white rectangle over a larger green one.
Thanks for stopping by.
Oh, before you go....check out this cute Christmas tag:
He was lots of fun to do...I didn't notice till just now,
but I forgot to color the bell at the end of his hat!
I'd better go do that before I forget again!!!!

Viva La Verve

This is the sketch for week three
in the Viva La Verve October Challenge.

This is my card:

As I was going through my Halloween papers, I came across a package of embellishments
from Martha Stewart...no idea how long these little guys have been hiding .
The webs were photo corners ( remember those?) , so I pulled the backs off and used them like stickers on the corners. Then I stuck the spider stickers on the orange paper behind the punched out circles...The thread they are hanging by was drawn with a 05 millennium marker.
Boo is a new stamp from paper smooches. I stamped it on lime green...naturally!
Here's a picture of the stamps...you could do this card without the Martha Stewart stickers because
the stamp set also includes a web and a cute spider!
Thanks for stopping by!

Purr-fect Birthday

In case you missed it , last Saturday was World Card Making Day.
Over at http://www.kraftinkimmiestamps.com they celebrated by hosting
card challenges all day on their blog.
This is the card I made for Challenge #4, a very special challenge because not only
are you entering to try and win a great Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp package, but also
by entering you apply for a spot on their Krafty Girl Design Team!
Wouldn't that be a dream come true!
I think I'll save this one for my daughter , wrap up a box with green and orange polka dot paper
and tie it with a big 'ole yellow ribbon.
Inside will be a fluffy stuffed kitty or two...or three! ( Inside joke...she already has multiple cats!)
Anyhow, I had fun making this card. I love coloring with my copics!
Here's a close-up. Can you tell the kitty on her shoulder is a calico?
Thanks for stopping by.

Mojo Monday

I just heard that my sister-in-law had foot surgery,
so I made this card for her using today's mojo sketch.

I chose to use fall colors, well....because it's Fall!
...off to the mailbox.
Have a good Monday!

Viva La Verve

I love playing along with the Viva La Verve sketch challenge blog.
For the second week in Oct. we got a sketch and an inspiration photo:

My eye went right to the flower on the canvas wall art, it reminded me of a Hero Arts stamp that I have...so that's what I went with.
Here's my card:

First I embossed the image with white detail embossing powder onto white cardstock.
Then I colored it with my Copics.
The little Happy Birthday circle stamp is marked Sylvia Yu rubbersoul.com...
I have no idea where I got this, but it sure does come in handy!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Micro Beads

Happy Saturday!
I'm so glad it's raining !
That means no guilt if I make cards instead of paint porch railings!!
So, onto the cards.....
Today on the less is more website the challenge is
White Christmas!
White on white is always a challenge for me because of my love for bright bold clear colors!
But, I gave it my best shot :
I used something from my stash that I haven't used in a long time -  Micro Beads!
First I cut out a tree:
Then  got out my Teflon sheet, because this was going to get sticky.
Cover the tree shape in Glossy accents, pore on the micro beads and let dry.
Letting it dry is the hard part!
But, once it was dry , I added it to a card front , stamped the sentiment in grey
and added thin white ribbon and bow for an accent and called it done!
Thanks for stopping by.
Till next time,
