Sparkly Angel

This week on the
the challenge is to "Bling It On!"
This card is clean and simple
(I used paper smooches stamps)
but totally sparkled up!
Here's a closer look:
My Friend Diana thinks that "Bling it On" should involve layers and flourishes and gems...
so I'm off to give that a try.
So out of my comfort zone, but if it works out I'll post it later.
'till then,

Santa Dog Tag

I'm making tags today....
this is my favorite so far:
I used a Sizzix die for the tag.
The snowflakes are a My Favorite Things Die-Namics.
The sweet little dog is a stamp and die combo
from Simon Says Stamp called Cat and Dog Pawsome.
The Santa hat is a digi stamp that I sized to fit.
I used some red rhinestones and to finish it off,
 I used a white Signo uni-ball pen
to make the white dashes around the tag edge.
Thanks for looking.

I made a Christmas card today using only stamps!
The background is Doodlebug's sugar coated paper...I love the sparkle!
I even added more sparkle to the center snowflake.
Here's what I did inside:
A very easy card!
Here's the dies I used:
The Die-namics are made by My Favorite Things and the words by quickutz.
Now it's time to go watch the Browns!

Color Throwdown

Check out the Color Throwdown Challenge HERE.
I've been making a lot of bottle tags lately, so....
Here's what I came up with:
my purple is a red purple and not the blue purple I would have liked...
but hey, sometimes you have to work with what you have.
I'm helping my friend Diana host a scrapbooking challenge on splitcoaststampers.
Here are a couple sample pages I've been working on:

TCP Tuesday

The current Tuesday Challenge at The Cats Pajamas
is a sketch :
As Luck would have it, I was working on Christmas tags and I had one finished that used the cute penguin holding a gift .
In the stamp I used, he is sitting on top of a fireplace with stockings and a couple of his penguin friends playing I just stuck post it notes over all that and inked it up.
Then when you take off the post it notes the only thing inked is the penguin you want.
Here's the finished card:
and the supplies I used:
This was a fun card to make.  I think I'll make the inside
with a place to hold a gift card.
Thanks for stopping by.

color throwdown

Here's a cute card I made  using today's colors over at the
 challenge blog.

"As always, if you don't have the exact colors,
it’s OK to substitute whatever is close to this week’s colors. "
I used teal instead of bright blue because it matched my background stripe.

Vampire Queen

I like to share a card I made today with a stamp I just got from
Kraftin' Kimmie called Vampire Queen.
I had so much fun coloring her. I used copic markers....
lots of them!
The sentiment actually came with another stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie called Dragon Queen, but I think it works well for this card too! I stamped it on printed paper (from my stash, so I don't know who makes it).
I used black chalk around the edges ... I like chalk better than ink for this because if you mess it up you can fix it with a white eraser.
I wanted to add some bling to the white panel. so I got out my doodle bug sequins...
but they looked too big. However the punched out sequin centers were  the perfect size.
I tried with  a close-up so you could see what I mean.
I'm submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
and Kraftin' Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by.

Just a quick post today
before I get started cleaning the basement...ugh!
The challenge at Less is More today
is to use Autumn colors.
Here's my card:
The sentiment is a Verve stamp.
The leaf is a die cut
from an Ellison die we had when the Scrapbook Shop was still open.
I had cut a bag full for a class , so I have lots of them!
I colored it with chalk...very easy!

On the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog
the challenge is to make a tag .

The tags were cut using the Reverse Confetti die that you can find HERE.
Got to hurry to upload this on the Paper Smooches guest designer
search ...the link closes soon.
Wish me luck!

Less is More

Hope you're having a great weekend!
I made this card to play along with this week's challenge over on the Less is More site.
The challenge is to make a one layer card with the theme "BEVERAGES".
I used my computer for the sentiment.
The wine glass is a stamp from Skipping Stones Design.
Color is Copic Marker RV69.
I used Glossy accents over the wine glass and true to form, I stuck my arm into it before it was completely dry and smudged I added more glossy accents to cover up the smudge.
This time I sat on my hands until it was completely dry!
When I picked it up to look at it I noticed a cool thing that had happened.
Tiny little air bubbles got trapped between the layers of Glossy accent...
all is good because it makes the wine glass look very realistic.
I could not have done that if I tried!
Thanks for stopping by.
'till next time,

Paper smooches

Can you believe we're half way through September already?
With that in mind, I made my first Christmas card for this year:
I had fun using the new stamp set - A Blessed Christmas
that I just got from Paper Smooches.
The top part of the card is sponged using Stampin' Up Brillant Blue ink.
The star is a die cut from Memory Box ...I added a touch of white glitter to make it sparkle!
The bottom part of the card is royal blue cardstock on which I stamped the Three Wise Men.
I thought that they needed to sparkle also know, being Royal and all!
You can't see it in the picture, but they have been sprinkled with beetle black glitter by doodlebug.
I tried a technique (new to me) that I learned up at the STAMPLISTIC store in Amhurst Ohio .
After stamping the Three Wise Men in black ink
I went over the image using a Quickie glue pen.
Let it goes from blue to clear...then sprinkle on glitter, shake off the excess.
The next step is called rub the glitter into the surface with your finger.
rub hard... then you brush away the excess and that's it!
The surface is still softly glittery.
Try'll be amazed!
They even have a special brush to brush away the glitter called a Sparkle Sweeper.
Yes I bought one and yes it is worth it's weight in gold!
You can find it HERE
Thanks for stopping by today.

Less is More

Over at  Less is More
this week's challenge is a song theme
"I do like to be beside the seaside!"
My camera and I are not getting along this morning...the card base is
Any how....I stamped this yesterday morning in a rush
because I still had to chop up a kitchen full of vegies before leaving for the family picnic.
In my haste I did not mask off the lighthouse...I just stamped it over the bright sunset sponging
so, the bright colors shone through the white spaces on the lighthouse.
No time for a do over, so I just used a white prismacolor pencil over
those spaces and now it is softer than the background.
If I told you I did this on purpose...because the white of the lighthouse was reflecting the sunset....would you buy it?   LOL
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Here's what I did on the inside:

the supplies I used are:
Memento LUXE ink- Dandelion
Memento LUXE ink- Morocco
Memento Ink- Tuxedo Black
Inkadinkado clear stamps- Coastal
lawn fawn clear stamps - life is good
Thanks for stopping by.
