A Little Love

The streets are clear, the sun is shinning and the temp. is above zero!
I am a happy girl!
Here's the card I made today:

The Free 4 All Challenge on SplitCoastStampers
is to add a little love somewhere on your card.
I used the verve sketch for Jan. week 2 .

I used a digi stamp from my files. Sorry I don't remember where I downloaded it from.
Don't laugh, but I just figured out how to extract the thing!

This should be a good card to send someone whose birthday is in February,
because it's not exactly a valentine...but almost!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Love is in the Air

the hostess is Tracy and her challenge is called Love is in the air!
How lucky was it that I got this stamp called Artemis in the mail Friday!
I colored her with copics and cut her out, then popped her up on pop dots.
Since there had been no way to cut out around the bow string, I had just cut it off,
so now I attached a strand of black embroidery floss and the bow is strung!
Maybe you can see what I'm talking about in this close up:
Oh yes, notice that I found a way to use lime green on this Valentine!   LOL :)
Thanks for stopping by today!

New Baby

My best friend's son and daughter-in law are expecting their first baby .
What wonderful news!  I made this card for her baby shower.
I kind of created my own scene. Here's what I used:
The tiny little hearts came from The Cat's Pajamas,
Margo( the girl stamp) came from Taylored Expressions,
and the sentiment came from Paper Smooches.
Of course I colored with copics and did some extra shading
on the letters with the early expresso Stampin' Up marker.
I'm submitting this to Saturday's Less is More challenge- New Baby
and Sunday's Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge-Anything Goes.
Thanks for stopping by.

Viva La Verve

Today's Viva La Verve sketch for week three in January
(I haven't got 1 or 2 done yet-geesh!)
is by Christyne Kane. There is also an inspiration Photo.
Here's the sketch:

and here's the inspiration: here goes the card I made:
These are not usually the colors I work with, so I did another card.
I'm happiest with the black, white and red  colors.
I think this would make a good "guy"card.

Die Cuts

Today I'm playing along with addicted to CAS.
The hostess is Loll and she wants us to use die cuts.
Well, let me tell you, I know it's only January,
but I am so tired of winter that I decided to look ahead to
springtime and Easter.  Besides, I got these cute little bunny dies
from Impression Obsession and I haven't had a chance to use them yet.
Here's my card:
I also used the fence die from Your Next Stamp and the grass die from My Favorite Things.
The cute little Easter egg was cut out from some old designer paper from my stash.
All the pieces were chalked a little bit around the edges.
The sentiment is from Stampin' up's Teeny Tiny wishes set.
A big Thanks goes out to Kittie Caracciolo
because she does wonderful things with die cuts on her blog Kittie Kraft.
That's where I first saw these cute little bunnies.
Thanks for stopping by.

BabyShower Favors

I'm helping a friend make baby shower favors.
This is what I've got so far...I think dark blue bakers twine will look better.
Now to make a whole bunch more! lol

One Layer

This week on the Less is More blog the theme is Hearts
and the challenge for me is to make it a one layer card!
Here's what I came up with:
The hearts are dollar bin goodies. I just made them into flowers
with my brush marker.
This is one layer....but I just couldn't leave it alone.
So I trimmed it down and put it on a red card base.
I like it better...but is it still a one layer card?
Thanks for stopping by.

Love is in the air!

I'm getting a jump start  by working on my Valentine stash.
This week the challenge on the Art Impressions Blog
is Expect the Unexpected - Use something from your stash!
So, like I was saying, I've been working on Valentines and I was
going through my stash and found this already colored  and matted cupid.
Then as I was looking at the Ai design team samples
I saw the card by Karen Day . The circle shape  framed by the two flourishes
jumped out at me. As luck would have it, I also had some black flourishes
cut from my MTF Fancy Flourish Die-namic.
1-2-3- find a red card base, stamp the sentiment, adhere cupid with his flourishes and DONE!
WOW, wish everything in my life would come together this easily!
Enjoy your day!
Leave me a silly message if you want to make my day!

Seize the Sketch Challenge
has teamed up with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps this week.
Here's the sketch:
and here's my card using the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp
"Owl love you forever!"
The cute little owls were stamped on white cardstock,
colored with copics and then cut out. I left a little bit of a white edge around them to separate them visually from the printed background.
I stamped the image a second time on brown
so I could cut out the tree branch. (which I made a little longer)
The hearts were cut out of red cardstock.
I put three coats of Glossy Accents on the hearts to give
them an epoxy look. I love this look, but waiting for the coats
to dry is a real pain.
I also played along with the Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.
This challenge was to use a snowy winter theme.
If you want to see my gallery on Splitcoaststampers just search for donidoodle.

Friend's Valentine

I think I'm ready for this Artic Blast that's due to hit Ohio .
I'm going to do my best to HIBERNATE!
I made a card today to play along with today's
 Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.
 Joy Taylor
  is today's Featured Stamper.
I chose this card of hers to case:

I was inspired by the balance of her layout design.
I changed the background from a solid to a print.
Kept the vertical sentiment,
but instead of accenting with embossing, I used a separate strip with thin borders.
Instead of a flower on the rectangle I used a design element from the paper pack I used
( Teresa Collins- my happy place 6x6 designer paper pad)

Here's the inside:
The cute little eye glasses were cut with a die from Impression Obsession.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Stay warm!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge

This week the hostess for Kraftin' Kimmie's challenge is STEPHANIE!!
And her challenge is to create a card
with a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp that is pretty much all white!
Here is my entry:
I used the Unicorn stamp from the Kraftin' Kimmie Three Wishes stamp set.
I used Versafine smokey grey to stamp her ...( are Unicorns female?)
on a white cardstock panel,
then I ran it through the cuttlebug inside a Darice embossing folder.
She looked funny embossed, so I stamped her on another piece of cardstock
 and fussy cut her out.
I wanted her to be laying on clouds or feathers or smoke...
So, looking around in the piles of junk on my desk, I found wax paper
die cut flowers..(I had used waxed paper in a stubborn die...) I folded them in half and tucked them under her. I like the almost transparent look the .wax paper creates.
I used a permacolor  grey pencil to add some shading
and some super fine glitter for a little bling.
The sentiment was made in Word on the computer.
Now all I have to do is figure out what to do in the inside!
Thanks for stopping by today.
