Can you believe we're half way through September already?
With that in mind, I made my first Christmas card for this year:
I had fun using the new stamp set - A Blessed Christmas
The top part of the card is sponged using Stampin' Up Brillant Blue ink.
The star is a die cut from Memory Box ...I added a touch of white glitter to make it sparkle!
The bottom part of the card is royal blue cardstock on which I stamped the Three Wise Men.
I thought that they needed to sparkle also ...you know, being Royal and all!
You can't see it in the picture, but they have been sprinkled with beetle black glitter by doodlebug.
I tried a technique (new to me) that I learned up at the STAMPLISTIC store in Amhurst Ohio .
After stamping the Three Wise Men in black ink
I went over the image using a Quickie glue pen.
Let it dry...it goes from blue to clear...then sprinkle on glitter, shake off the excess.
The next step is called burnishing...you rub the glitter into the surface with your finger.
rub hard... then you brush away the excess and that's it!
The surface is still softly glittery.
Try it...you'll be amazed!
They even have a special brush to brush away the glitter called a Sparkle Sweeper.
Yes I bought one and yes it is worth it's weight in gold!
Thanks for stopping by today.
'till next time,
Doni
