SNOWMAN

Hello!
Happy Monday!

This is today's sketch at From the Heart Stamps.
Sketch 130
Here's what I made using just the sketch:
I used the  Snowman Medley digi stamp that you can find Here.
This stamp has a trio of sweet snowman. For this card I just
used the one image and made it the size I needed...that's why I love digi stamps!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Joy

The Christmas season is upon us,
which is why I was so excited to see that Sarah G. selected
the code word JOY for Challenge # 78 at Addicted To CAS.

You can check out the design team cards and join in the challenge HERE.

I fell in love with this Joy Stamp & Cut set from Hero Arts when I first saw it, however
every place I tried to order it said it was out of stock...so frustrating.
While I was still moaning and groaning about not being able to get it,
my darling daughter Jennifer found it at scrapbook.com and had it sent to me as
a early Christmas gift.  YEA!
Since this is a pretty simple design, I wanted to add some interest by adding dimension,
so I cut the word out of a foam sheet and one out of white sparkle paper.
maybe this will show better what I mean:

That's a lot easier than cutting four or five layers.
The little green holly leaves were cut the same way
using an Impression Obsession die (DIE023-X).
Then I colored the edges of the white foam with a green marker.

Thanks for stopping by.

'till next time,
Doni

wreath die from impression obsession (DIE023-X)
star dies from Simon Says Stamp ( Holiday Shapes # S131)
star die from My Favorite Things (Die-Namics stacking stars)
Peace sentiment from Happy Little Stampers (Mixed Christmas Sentiments)
I hope that you'll join us in this month's Christmas challenge.

Christmas Stockings

Today I'd like to share with you a card I made
to play along with Splitcoaststampers.
The challenge was to "put a sock in it",
and since I used such a cute stamp from The Cat's pajamas
I think I'll also enter it in the TCP Winter BlogHop
for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher.

Like I said, the stamp is from The Cat's Pajamas.
I used word on the computer and wrote ...and the stockings were hung..
The coloring was done with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by.

'till next time,
Doni

Angel Joy

Hello!
It's Monday and that means a new sketch challenge at From the Heart Stamps.

Sketch 129

This week I  used the sketch rotated to the right 90 degrees
and here's what it looks like:

I used the digi stamp Angel Joy (Faithful Friends) that you can find HERE.
I colored her with Copic Markers and added gold glitter to her wings for a little sparkle.

The pine bough was a Impression Obsession die ( DIE021-N) that was too wide
for the space I had, so I cut it apart and used only the parts that I liked.

Next I went looking for a Christmas sentiment that was vertical and found the perfect one
for this card in the on the digi stamp Long Stocking that you can find HERE.

It's amazing how much better I like this sketch turned on it's side.

Thanks for stopping by today.

'till next time,
Doni

Christmas Lights

Good Morning!
I haven't done a Splitcoaststampers Challenge for awhile, so this card
is for their Featured Stamper Challenge today.
I am also entering it in The Cat's Pajamas  anything goes challenge.

Here's what I did on the inside:
This was a fun and easy card to make and (Yea!) one more card to add to my Christmas stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

'till next time,
Doni

ATCAS 3rd. Birthday

Woo-Hoo!
Addicted to CAS is celebrating it's Third Birthday.
Be sure and stop by and help us celebrate and check out all the great prizes that you could win.
Loll is the hostess for this challenge
and she chose the code word - DIMENSION.
I am loving being on the Design Team , here's the card I made to honor this
special Birthday...(notice the three candles on the cake).

Ok...just so you know, this is way more dimensional in real life.
Here's a closer look from the side:

I found this cake image in my stash of digi stamps,
sorry I cannot remember where it came from.
I printed out six images and fussy cut each one, then adhered three
uncolored layers together. The last three layers were colored with
copic markers and then layered like this ...
first the yellow cake and the plate layer,
then the orange and green layer on top of that ,
then the top blue  layer with the candle on top of that.
I placed the finished cake on two layers of stitched rectangles.
( theses are Memory Box Dies)
I found the little Happy Birthday sentiment on a
Simon Says Stamp set called Birthday Messages.

Thanks for stopping by today,
if you want to make my day leave a comment !
I love hearing from you.

'till next time,
doni

Blowing Kisses

I hope you're having a good Monday.
Welcome to my Blog!

Time for a new sketch at From The Heart Stamps.
FtHS Card Patterns Sketch 127
This was fun... here's mine:

I paper pieced the sweet little snow girl, but when I fussy cut
I didn't try to cut around the hat ties.
Here's what I mean:
by printing the image on the background when you add the fussy cut layer
over top, the hat ties appear.
Here's the supplies I used:
Memory Box - stitched rectangles dies
MFT- Snowflake Die-Namics
Craft Foam
Copics - W0, W1,E21, E23,R39, YG99

Thanks for stopping by.

'till next time,
Doni

Christmas Crazy Bird

November 14th....I think it's finally starting to sink in
CHRISTMAS is not far away!

Less is More has a one layer challenge with the theme "Santa" this week.

So, since I really need to get busy working on some Christmas cards, here it goes.

I love these Crazy Bird stamps by Tim Holtz and
I was really excited when they came out with a stamp set of accessories
for them called Crazy Things.

It took a few tries (four !! ) to get this layout because I stamped the hat and
the present first, made a mask for each if them and then stamped the bird over top.
I colored with  Copic markers and since I never think a one layer card looks finished, I took a deep breath and drew a line around the edges.
Yea! One more Christmas card for the stash.

Thanks for stopping by.
'till next time,
Doni

Eat More Pie

Welcome!
Another Monday means another new sketch challenge at
FtHS Card Patterns Sketch 126

This week I just did the sketch, no twist.

Here's what the inside looks like:
Happy Turkey Day is a stamp from Lawn Fawn.
The pie slice is on the Eat More Pie
digi stamp that you can find HERE.

I hope this inspires you to play along with this week's sketch challenge.

'till next time,
Doni

Hero

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS.
This challenge is hosted by Anja and she chose the code word - HERO.

Birdbrain is My hero...so here's the card I made:
If you love this Super Birdbrain you can find the Digi Stamp HERE.

Super Birdbrain was printed on white , then colored with Copics and fussy cut.
I adhered him to the striped paper strip at a cute angle and stamped the sentiment
(from  a Mama Elephant stamp set called- Tiny Hero's)
I added a black border to the stripe strip and then popped the whole panel up on foam.

Thanks for looking.
'till next time,
Doni

FTHS Blog Hop

Hello!
Welcome to the From the Heart Stamp Blog Hop.
If you have arrived from Cammy's Blog , you are in the right place,
if not why don’t you start on the From The Heart Stamps Blog,
so you don’t miss anything.

We have a CAS and Over the Top theme this month.

I chose to use the image SWINGING SNOWMAN.
Clean and simple is in my comfort zone, so this first card was a joy to make.
I did use the branch and a few leaves from the Lawn Fawn stamp set
called season's tweetings  and the sentiment from the Happy Little Stampers
stamp set called mixed Christmas sentiments.
( I won this set in one of their challenges-woot-woot!)

I did bling it up a bit by using two little red seed beads on the leaves
and super fine glitter on the fur.

Now, on to the over the top card!
So here we are with the sweet little snowman
( same image , same size, same colors)
and how different this card looks:

Yep, I made my very first easel card. It was fun and easy and if
you are like me and have not made one before, click HERE to find a really great tutorial.

Here's what the inside looks like :
The little directions are a free printable that I found HERE!
Read down through her blog and you will see where to download these.

I really had fun making this card, I got to add die-cuts with glitter and sequins
and designer paper and lots of layers. Here's a close up :

See how cute the fur looks....I put down glue and sprinkled white flower soft ,
and he's got glossy accents on his nose.
Here are supplies that I used:

Copics
 snowman- CO, C3, R20
nose- YR14, YR18
hat and candy cane- R27, R59
boots- E35, E29
scarf- R27, R59, G09, G28
outlined in B000
Designer paper from my stash
MFT Die-namics -snowflakes
Polar White Flower Soft
White super fine glitter
assorted moonshine sequins
green sequins
glossy accents

Thanks for hopping with us today.

Don't forget to leave comments, one random commenter will be
selected from each blog to win an image of their choice from the From The Heart Stamp store.

Now head on over to Imke's Blog and see
what she has created.
The hop will end on Monday November 9th at 6am EST.

Sweet Sunday Sketch

Taking a little time to play along with

Here's the sketch
Love the colors that Judy Collins used in her Design Team card,
so that's what got me started.
The image is a digital image that you can find at From The Heart Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to go back outside and enjoy some more sunshine!

You Glow Girl

I have a stamp set that I've had for quite awhile and haven't used yet.
It's called Caroline and it's made by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Here's the card I made:

and I used a MFT stamp set called Grand Greetings for the inside.

I'm entering this card in the Wonderful Wednesday Challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie's.
Oh, and I used the colors from this weeks Color Throwdown.

Now all I have to do is wait for someone I know to get pregnant !!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Sick Chick

It's Monday, so that means it's time for a new sketch at From The Heart Stamps.
Sketch122
I needed to make a get well card, so here's what I came up with:

I just love Birdbrain. Here's a close up of his poor sick self:

Spooky

It's time for a brand new challenge at Addicted To CAS.

The very talented Ceal is the hostess for this challenge
and she chose the code word SPOOKY.

Here's what I came up with:

I did a lot of sponging with distress inks after first masking off a circle shape.
The inks I used are: fossilized amber, wild honey, and shaded lilac.
I found a spooky looking tree in my stash made by Scrappy Cat
and to that I added some bats and a little pumpkin from other stamp sets.
The inside is pretty simple:
Hope your Halloween is Happy!

'till next time,
Doni

Cornucopia

Good Monday morning!

Today is sketch challenge #123 over at From The Heart Stamps.
Here's the sketch:
Sketch123

Here's the card I made using both the sketch and the twist.
I wanted just a touch of color to keep the soft look...which I'm happy with,
however, for the life of me I could not get the sewing machine tension adjusted
so that the stitching looked good. Could be that my machine is ancient! lol!
Thanks for stopping by.

'till next time,
Doni
