Mask-erade Day 5

This is Birdbrain. He's wishing you a Happy Birthday!
Hard to believe, but I think I just made a one layer card that I like!
Of course I couldn't resist adding the thin black line on the sides, so it has the look of being matted.
Today is day 5 of the Mask-erade online card classes.
Jennifer McGuire's  lesson was on using clear embossing as a mask.
Since I used a digi stamp ( you can find him HERE ),
I did heat seal it with my heat gun as it came out of the printer...
but since he wasn't a stamp I had to use my Zig Embossing pen.
It worked fine with the clear embossing powder, but using
a stamp and Versafine embossing ink pad would have been easier.
Thanks for Looking.
'till next time,

Black and white

I love bright bold colors.
But sometimes black and white works better
as is the case with todays card.
The stamp set is from Sweet & Sassy Stamps .
The cat is from a Impression Obsession die and
instead of chevrons I used dots
which I made with the fat end of a black zig marker.
I followed this sketch only I made mine horizontal.

This was fun to do. You can see lots more cards over at CAS(E) this Sketch
I think I'll send this to my daughter, Jennifer...they have eight cats!
Have a great day!

Pretty Butterfiles

The card I have to share with you today is
the one I made for lesson three in the
Mask-erade online class.
I started out with Shari's lesson in mind.
However, I didn't stamp my butterflies on watercolor paper
-duh, don't know what I was thinking-
So I used the ink blended background technique from Jennifer's lesson.
Then, because I hadn't colored a large enough area, it did not look good as a card front.
So, I used the tag idea from Debby's video. Still couldn't leave well enough alone, so I added Glossy Accents to the butterflies....hey, at least I remembered to remove the liquid mask first!
Here's what I used:
butterfly stamps from Inkadinkado
hello stamp from Technique Tuesday
Grid stamp from Kaisercraft
Tag shape from MFT Blueprints #13
Distress Inks, pickled raspberry and mustard seed
Memento Tuxedo Black
Versafine Smokey Grey
Thanks for looking.

Mask-erade Card class

This is the card  I made  on day two
This class was taught by Jennifer McGuire.
Her video's are so easy to understand. Today
we used a large mask and small stamps.
I love the red, white, and black color scheme and to get the colors to pop
I used candy red embossing powder and detail white embossing powder.
Since I used Simon Says Stamp stamps ,I'll enter this in today's
Thanks for stopping by.

This was made for the challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers

sending you sunshine

This is the card I made this morning:
I made this to link up with both the
challenges .
April showers brings May flowers and all that, but nothing would happen without
the sunshine!
The daisy is from a My Favorite Things Die-namic and the
sentiment is from Your Next Stamp .
Glad you could stop by today.

color throwdown the Ai way

Todays colors for the throwdown challenge:
These colors are so bright and happy!
I immediately thought of birthdays,
and I remembered this Ai stamp That hasn't seen ink yet.
So I made this card to link up with both the color throwdown challenge
and the Ai Challenge # 159  "Lovely Ladies"
and I used another Ai stamp on the inside:

Yep, I'm addicted!
Along with this weeks challenge they are having a design team call.
I would LOVE to be on their design team, so wish me luck!
Here's the card I made:
I just love these bird stamps from Tim Holtz and this guy
looks just befuddled enough to match the sentiment.
I SO can relate to not knowing what day it is!!
I found that cute saying at the stamp convention I went to a couple of weeks ago.
It's made by Rubbernecker stamps.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Addicted to CAS

Here's what I made:
The Flower design was a hero arts stamp embossed with gold on black paper, then cut out,
adhered to the patterned paper and embellished with a pearl.
The bottle tag shape and the word Cheers are both Papertrey Dies.

Simon Says

I made a card yesterday that I uploaded to Splitcoast Stampers for the
Try a New Technique challenge to use a positive and a negative from two different dies.
Since I'm just getting around to it, I'm entering it in the
"anything goes" Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge from last week.
Check THIS out, I think I'm going to be entry # 800!
Wowza, that's some serious competition!
Anyhow, it was a fun card to make.

This is this week's sketch. You can check out their blog HERE.
I borrowed this Art Impressions Giraffe stamp from my friend Lynn, so I plan
on getting lots of use from it before I have to give it back!
Here's what I did with it today:
I embossed the giraffe and the word hello with black embossing powder on a
tag that I cut from background paper ( made a bunch of background papers awhile back
using distress ink stamped on  a Teflon mat spritzed with water ).
Here's the inside:
Love the Ai sense of humor on their stamps!
Thanks for stopping by today.
