Blue is for Boy

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Clean and Simple.

Joanna is our hostess and she has chosen the code word -BLUE.

I hope you can play along and see what BLUE inspires you to make.
This challenge's sponsor is CAS-UAL FRIDAYS STAMPS and
the prize is a $20 gift certificate to their store.

My stash is in need of some baby cards, so...Blue to me means boy!

Here's the card I came up with:

I used Paper Smooches Stamps, Lawn Fawn stitched hillside borders die,
and Simon Says Stamp holiday shapes die for the little hearts.

The thing I liked best about this card is the way you can get a straight sentiment
to curve and follow your own design.
Here's how:

I did this on the inside of my card.
First, place a acrylic block over the card.
then place your stamp ( with the smooth back side up) on top of the acrylic...
curving the words to match the curve of the paper underneath.
This sentiment was rather thick,
so I cut small notches along the edges so that it would bend better.

Next you place another acrylic block on top of your curved letters:

Lift this top acrylic block and your stamp is ready to stamp!
Looks like this:

I first learned this technique from watching a Jennifer McGuire video.
Cool Beans...right?

Hope you'll give it a try.

'till next time,
Doni
