Hello!
Welcome to the From the Heart Stamp Blog Hop.
If you have arrived from Cammy's Blog , you are in the right place,
if not why don’t you start on the From The Heart Stamps Blog,
so you don’t miss anything.
We have a CAS and Over the Top theme this month.
I chose to use the image SWINGING SNOWMAN.
Clean and simple is in my comfort zone, so this first card was a joy to make.
I did use the branch and a few leaves from the Lawn Fawn stamp set
called season's tweetings and the sentiment from the Happy Little Stampers
stamp set called mixed Christmas sentiments.
( I won this set in one of their challenges-woot-woot!)
I did bling it up a bit by using two little red seed beads on the leaves
and super fine glitter on the fur.
Now, on to the over the top card!
So here we are with the sweet little snowman
( same image , same size, same colors)
and how different this card looks:
Yep, I made my very first easel card. It was fun and easy and if
you are like me and have not made one before, click HERE to find a really great tutorial.
Here's what the inside looks like :
The little directions are a free printable that I found HERE!
Read down through her blog and you will see where to download these.
I really had fun making this card, I got to add die-cuts with glitter and sequins
and designer paper and lots of layers. Here's a close up :
See how cute the fur looks....I put down glue and sprinkled white flower soft ,
and he's got glossy accents on his nose.
Here are supplies that I used:
Copics
snowman- CO, C3, R20
nose- YR14, YR18
hat and candy cane- R27, R59
boots- E35, E29
scarf- R27, R59, G09, G28
outlined in B000
Designer paper from my stash
MFT Die-namics -snowflakes
Polar White Flower Soft
White super fine glitter
assorted moonshine sequins
green sequins
glossy accents
Thanks for hopping with us today.
Don't forget to leave comments, one random commenter will be
selected from each blog to win an image of their choice from the From The Heart Stamp store.
Now head on over to Imke's Blog and see
what she has created.
The hop will end on Monday November 9th at 6am EST.
Winners will be posted on the From The Heart Stamps Blog
on Wednesday November 11th.
See ya later!

These are fantastic Doni! I love them both - but you have made a brilliant first easel card - Wow!!
ReplyDeleteYou rock CAS! and as for your first easel card...*claps!* it's fun and bright, and your colouring and shading is superb!

If that's your first easel, you knocked it out of the park my friend. It looks spectacular. I love this image so much as I used to swing a lot as a child. It's a tough choice between the two as you've created some fabulous examples of both styles. Keep it up Doni!!

ReplyDeleteTwo really gorgeous cards, Doni! Love your CAS design and all the gorgeous elements you chose for your Over the Top card...so sparkly, too!
ReplyDeleteI love BOTH of them. I like the added branch and little beads to the leaves. Love that you used traditional colors on this. Love the flower soft on him and have been wondering if that would work and now I know...it will!!
ReplyDeleteKathy D.
Yes, very different but both are way impressive. And I love the printable of how to display the easel card. I've stayed away from these because I figured the recipient wouldn't know what to do with it. This is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWowsers! I gazed at the CAS card and thought how lovely. THEN I scrolled to the next version and SO lovely. Thanks for the link to the easel card instruction. What a great idea to include it on the card. I'm always a little fearful that the recipient will not understand the fold.
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! I really love both of your cards. The shadow on the CAS card really makes that snowman pop. But your other card just sparkles and shines. Love them!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! I love the branch you added on CAS card and the folded one, absolutely stunning! I've printed out this image few days ago and want to make one card as well :-) Thanks for sharing, it surely is an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCAS in perfection, Doni and your coloring is really nice. And the easel cards is also lovely. I like your idea to add the directions. The first time i get an easel card i don´t know what do with it **lol**
ReplyDeleteDoni - I am in love with the CAS adding the limb was inspired! They are both beautiful cards - awesome job with the theme! Thanks for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteLove the easel card. So colorful and charming.
ReplyDeleteDoni... Wow!!! I love the placement of the image on the CAS card. Your OTT is spectacular!!! I love the easel card and all the beautiful details too.
ReplyDeleteDoni, these are gorgeous! I love how you added the branch on the top card! Love the gorgeous snowflakes as well!!
ReplyDeleteDoni, both of these are gorgeous. Easel cards are my favorite layout.
ReplyDeleteHi Doni, I love your gorgeous easel card, they are so fun and impress even the most difficult, I made my first earlier this year. I love the definition the black sparkle card adds and will have to try it out ...thanks for the inspiration, have a great week... Megan
ReplyDeleteHi Doni! Love both cards but I'm a real sucker for texture. I LOVE THE FUR LOOK! Guess OTT is my favorite this time. Hugs!
