Featured Stamper Challenge

Today I'm playing along with the Featured Stamper Challenge
over at Splitcoaststampers.

Here's my card to honor today's feature stamper :

Here is Mary's card that I chose to case:

This was a fun challenge.
I just love the mini bird crazy & things stamp from Tim Holtz.
That Santa hat fits on just about anything, in this case I put it on Maude.
She is a stamp from the Golden Oldies collection at Art Impressions.
The sentiment is computer generated.
I just thought that was what Maude would say! lol!

Hope you're enjoying this holiday season.

Welcome to a new challenge from Addicted to Clean and Simple.

Jaydee picked the perfect code word for our
4th Birthday Celebration!!!

Here's my card in honor of this special occasion:

The gold sparkle flowers are a little hard to get a good  picture.
Here's a closer look:
I really love the  gold sparkle .
I think you can tell from this picture, that I die cut the
word Congratulations four times and glued them together to get a rich dimension.
Here's the supplies I used:
cream cardstock
black cardstock
MFT Blueprints #13 Die-namics
"Halo" embossing powder from  Sparkle & Sprinkle
rubber flower stamp ( sorry I don't know the source, it's so old that
I just have it filed under miscellaneous!)

Thanks for visiting my blog today!
I hope you can link up your own celebration card
because we have lots of great gifts from our wonderful sponsors up for grabs.

Christmas Critter

Today I'm playing along with the Simon Says Stamp
Wednesday Challenge
This week the challenge is "Christmas Critters".

I used Rubbernecker stamp- freehand frame and dog with big eyes.
The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn - merry messages.
And the cute Santa hat is from Tim Holtz - crazy birds and things.

I was also going to enter it in this weeks Less is more challenge.
It's a one layer card challenge, however the theme is books/literature...
duh, this dog is cute  but not very literary !
Oh well, I am not very good at combining challenges.

Welcome to a new challenge from Addicted to Clean and Simple.

Barb chose the word Ombre' for us to use.

Here's my card:
I chose to use a monotone ombre' look.
The color is called ripe persimmon....isn't it yummy!...
It's a distress ink by Tim Holtz.

I started by heat embossing the happy birthday (source unknown for this stamp)
and the balloon (W plus 9- unforgettable stamp set).
Then I masked the balloon and sponged away ...starting at the bottom and
getting lighter on the way up. Then I masked off everything BUT the balloon and did the same thing.
To finish the card I attatched the sponged panel to some black and white stripe paper,
and centered it on a matching solid color card base. and just for the heck of it I tossed in some persimmon pearls.
This is going to a good friend whose birthday is at the end of the week.
Here's what I did on the inside:

Thanks for looking.

CASEing Lisa

I came across a birthday card that was just so perfect
I decided to CASE (copy & share everything)it.
I've been a fan of Lisa Addesa's for a long time.
You can find the card I'm talking about on her blog from March 20, 2014.

And here's what mine looks like:
I also liked it before trimming off the balloons:
I figure to mail it I'll just use a slightly larger envelope.

This is what I did on the inside:
The balloon stamp came from W plus 9 -unforgettable stamp set.
The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions - another year older stamp set.

Welcome to the From The Heart Stamps September Blog Hop.

If you came from Cammy's Blog ,you're in the right place.
This month each design team member was assigned a
randomly selected image to use.
Mine was Hold Tight Hugs.

I made a shaker card.  Here's a close up:
I filled the shaker with glitter shapes by Recollections (from Michael's)
and some turquoise Baby Beads from Queen & Co.

I love the sentiment : life is full of ups and downs, Let's hold on tight!
So that's what we are all going to do right now...hold on tight !
Hugs to you all.
We will be taking a break while Faith recovers.

Now hop on over to Imke's Blog
and see what she has created.

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to Clean and Simple.

The hostess for this challenge is Sweet Kobylkin
and she chose HARVEST as the code word.
I was excited that the new stamp I ordered from Lawn Fawn
came in the mail in time to use on my card.  Here's how I used it:

Here's a closeup to better show the texture and dimension.

It's my turn to host the challenge at Addicted to Clean and Simple.
I chose the code word "SILHOUETTE"
Here's the card I made:
I started  out by playing with watercolors on Canson watercolor paper.
I used Distress Ink (mermaid lagoon) and stamped it onto an acrylic block
then used a water brush to make a puddle .
Then I just made pretty blue messes on a couple of
pieces of paper!
I liked this blue splotch the best then I stamped ( after it dried)
images from Inkadinkado( meadow) and sentiments from
Stampin' Up (Hello Life).

Here's the other tries...I'll save them, ya never know! lol
I hope this inspires you to get messy with silhouettes!

'till next time.

It's time for another sketch challenge

You can get this cute birdbrain image HERE.
I switched the design to the left side because it worked better with the image I chose.
Colored it with copics and added a die cut sun (from W plus 9).

Thanks for looking.

The card I made today was inspired by a card made by Taheerah.
I loved her background but she didn't say how she made it so I had to wing it!
This card is going to a die hard Dr. Who fan!
so , to get the swirl effect I cut my own stencil:
I didn't have plastic, so I drew the swirls on white cardstock
and the covered the whole thing with scotch tape before I cut parts
of it out with my exato knife.

Then I started with light lavender paper and added distress inks:
I sprinkled some water on it and cut the panel to card size

To make the Tardis  I used the phone booth stamp from the Newton's Nook stamp
called Newton Dreams of London.
Finishing touches were to add some custom white pen work to the phone booth and
then some purple and blue glitter because everything looks better with glitter!

Hope you have a great weekend!

If you arrived from Cammy's Blog you are in the right place,
if not why don't you start on the From The Heart Stamps,
so you don't miss anything.

Here's my project, using the Surf's Up Birdbrain image:

Here's a closer look:

Now you can see the glitter on the waves a little better... I have a huge container of all kinds of glittery stuff in my stash. I thought the white Doodlebug Sugarcoating
looked good on the wave foam.

Also from my stash I used this blue watercolor background:
I spent one whole afternoon just playing with my paints making a total mess,
but I now have lots of samples in my stash to choose from.
I cut the front panel of my card from this big sheet because it reminded me of the ocean.

Now head over to Imke's Blog and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today.
The hop will end on Sunday Aug 7th at 6 am EST.
Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday Aug 10th.

MFT Di-namics- Blueprints #13
Memory Box- stitched rectangle layers

craft foam sheet
White cardstock

Welcome is the new code word at Addicted to CAS.

This challenge is hosted by the lovely Bhavana.
Here's my take on the code word:
I immediately thought of this great sentiment from a stamp set
I wanted to use the tiny houses to represent a neighborhood
but it was a  Memory box die and I didn't want to use it that way,
so I die cut it out of masking paper and used those tiny masks to
make my neighborhood.
After masking off the bottom of the card I sponged away!
One of the great things about the distress inks is the way they react to water.
So. I dipped my hand in water and flicked my fingers and looking background!
I hope it inspires you to play along !
'till next time,

Thursday, July 21, 2016

This week the Wednesday challenge
at Simon Says Stamp is to make a card
using things with wings.

I started by stamping the butterfly (from Inkadinkado)
and then added turquoise water color ..which when it reached the butterfly
made the ink run and it turned darker teal.
But, hey...I went with it . I didn't like the inside of the butterfly being darker,
so I went over the insides with my  signo uniball white pen.
To finish it I added a sentiment from paper smooches.
Lesson learned...wait for ink to really dry or better yet use embossed image!
Thanks for looking.
