Shamrock Birdbrain

Here's my card for this week's sketch at From The Heart Stamps.

This week I chose to use only the sketch and not the color suggestions or the twist.
Here's the inside:
I kept it very simple with lots of room to write your own message.
Card recipe:
We Bit and Lots of Luck (for the inside shamrock)
StampinUp-teeny tiny tiny wishes ( inside sentiment)
Nestabilities - classic ovals large
Zig millennium marker 05( for doodling)
Copic markers - Y02, Y19, YR68, YR61, G05, G29, B000
Doodlebug sprinkles - green
Distress Ink - mowed lawn
Wink of Stella - black

Hope you can play along!

Sweet Birthday

I had fun this afternoon trying a new (to me) technique.
I don't know what it's called , but I saw it on this week's sketch

When I made my card I turned the sketch sideways:
Here's a closer look :

I used the stamp Ice Cream Dream from Simon Says Stamp
and the sentiment is a stamp from Jillibean soup.
I  used my Misti to make 2 identical card fronts and then
colored them alike with my Copic markers.

The card looked really empty, so I decided to add some sponged circles.
The tricky part was getting them spaced  the same on both card fronts.
Note to self:  next time stamp circles and use the Misti!
Look at the mess I made:

Anyhow, the last step is to die cut the central panel
from one finished panel and pop it up on the other finished card front.
I used a die from My Favorite Things called  "stitched rounded rectangle stax".
Then I cut 4 more out of plain white cardstock and layered them all together
giving me the dimension I wanted.

The last step was to use MFT Blueprint #13 Die and then
adhere the whole thing to a strawberry colored card base.

Thanks for looking!

I'm back this morning with a new sketch challenge
from FTHS.
Here's my take on it:
Fussy cutting those skinny flamingo legs were a real challenge!  lol!

I just got a new paper pad by The Paper Studio called "Mint to be Fab".
The background paper with its' repeated flamingos reminded me of
Faith's stamp called Hot Chick Flamingo.

I hope you can play along with us this week.

Time for a new code word from Addicted To Clean And Simple.
This code word had me stumped ...
after many tries, this is what I came up with:
I used a stamp set from Jane's Doodles
called Nuts About You.
The only other thing I used was every brown copic marker that I!
Thanks for looking.

Let it Snow!

It's Monday so we have a new sketch challenge
Using the "Twist" and the "colors" are optional.
I turned the sketch on it's side and used the twist "Snow Day".

I used the really cute Birdbrain...Love the scarf!
You can find the image HERE.
In addition to the really stormy background paper ( which is so old I don't remember
where I got it), I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Pierced circle stax and Snowflake dies.

Stay warm and dry!

February FTHS Blog Hop

Welcome to the From The Heart Stamps February Blog Hop.
We have a Love and Friendship Theme this month.
Our designers are each showing a project created with this theme.
If you have arrived from Cammy's Blog , you are in the right place,
if not why don’t you start on the From The Heart Stamps Blog so you don’t miss anything.
Here is my project, using Conversation Hearts.

I used this sketch :
I had a printed copy of this sketch in my " Junk  pile" on my desk,
so I figured I'll take my inspiration where I can find it!
For some texture on the background I used a Stampin'Up
embossing folder.
Next I went searching for a print that had pink and grey in it...
pink or red for valentine's and grey for the mouse.
I hand cut the banners , positioning them like in the sketch.
I tried three hearts in the bottom left like the sketch, but it didn't look right to me .
I liked it better with just one and the three littler ones scattered up above.
To cut these hearts I used the Simon Says Stamp Die called Holiday Shapes.
For the circle I used the MFT Die-namics pierced circle stax die.

Now head over to Imke's Blog.
and see what she has created. As you hop along, leave a comment on each blog.
We will select a random winner from the comments
on each blog to win one image of your choice.
Our hop will end on Sunday February 5th 2017 at 6 am,
and the winners will be posted on Wednesday February 8th.
Thanks for hopping with us today.
