Color Throwdown

I'm playing along with  Color Throwdown today.

I  was lucky and got picked as Featured Stamper for Challenge # 447,
so that means I'm the Guest Stamper today!
I'm super excited!  Here's  the colors for this challenge:

This inspiration picture was so stunning that I could not get Poppies out of my head!!
So I went with's my card:

Here's a close look:

I used the no line coloring technique ( stamp the image with a very light color ink).
I used Hero Arts Shadow ink - soft sand.
Then I used a fine brush and water and gave water coloring a shot.

Here's what I used:

The doodle lines around the edges are a stamp from rubbernecker.
The pretty poppies are also a stamp by rubbernecker.
The sentiment is is from the Doodle Buds Stamp set by W plus 9.

Hope you have fun playing with this week's colors!

Hi !
Time for a new code word from Addicted To Clean and Simple.

Here's what I came up with:

It's definitely white on white!
I used a diamond design embossing folder from Darice and a
word die from Impression Obsession.

To give it some interest I went a little nuts with the dimension factor!
There are 5 Congratulations die cuts glued together to give the word lots of depth,
and then the flat panel that the word is on is put on the card front with foam tape.
Like I said ....lots of dimension! lol

Hope you have time to play along with us on this challenge.
The winner will recieve a $15 gift certificate from our sponsor- Happy Little Stampers!

Soak up the Sun

It's 90 degrees in Ohio.
I think summer has arrived!
I'm very thankful for my air conditioning.

Today I'm playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch.
It fits the bill, so I'm also linking up to Work it Wednesday
Here's my card:

here's the sketch:
I found a piece of this paper in my stash. I'm not sure where it came from,
but it kinda looks like it might be Doodlebug.
Added a sentiment from a MFT stamp and die cut sunglasses....easy peasy!
I did add vellum to the sunglasses and  glued 4 layers of them together to add some dimension.

This is going in the mail this afternoon to my Sister-in-Law.

Thanks for stopping by.

'till next time.

I really do love my friends.
There's a few of us that hang together so much we're more
like a small gang!

Anyhow, I thought I'd send a few cards to them.
I'm also linking them ( the cards, not my friends!!) to Freshly Made Sketches

Here's the sketch I used. You can see that I flipped it on it's side.

Here's another one. For some strange reason, I have a hard time making two cards the same.

The stamps are from Technique Tuesday, the
sentiment is from My Favorite Things- Tickled pink set
and the cute plaid paper is from a Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pack called perfectly plaid.

Thanks for stopping by.

The theme at CAS on Friday
is Animals.
This was a fun card's what I came up with:
I can just imagine that rat wishing for the biggest cheese ever!
These cute rat stamps ( there's 8 different ones in the set) are made by
Katzelkraft . Problem is they're in France...too much charge for shipping!!!
Good news is I found a supplier in the US...check out Frantic Stamper, Inc.

I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Akron skyline

Time for a new sketch over at
Here's my take on it:

This is Akron's skyline. I bought this stamp last year
at the Adventures in Stamping convention in Akron.
It's made by a company called Li Wee Ones.

Thanks for stopping by.

What's Shakin' Bacon?

I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches today.
Here's my take of this sketch:

I used the cutest stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs called This Little Piggy.
The printed paper is from a 6x6 Pebbles paper pad.
Embossed the sentiment using detail white embossing powder.
                  Colored with Copic markers: R81, R83 and R85,  C1 and C5, Y18 and YR68.

This was a fun challenge...give it a try!
I'd love to see what you come up with.

Hi !
Time for a new code word from Addicted To Clean and Simple.
Here's the card I made:
 So, here's the story:
I was up late making this card ( of course, late for me is anything after 9 p.m. !! )
I wanted to make the inside design while I had all the stuff on my desk, so I did.
this is what I made:
Did ya notice that the card is horizontal
and the inside is vertical!! well, DUH!

So, I made a card front that was vertical ....and I actually like it better.

Then, of course, I had to make another inside for the first card.

It all turned out good, because I ended up with two complete cards.

Hope you can find time to play along with us.

The card I made today has a whole row of elephants!

The challenge at  CAS on Sunday.
is to use a repetition image.

I used the stamp set called unforgettable ( W plus 9)
colored with Copic Markers
used Wink of Stella on the balloon
added three tiny tiny sequins just for fun

I did another card earlier today
for the clean and simple challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.
Their challenge was to use fish on your card.
So I did:

Thanks for stopping by today.

Neapolitan's always time for ice cream!
and it's also time
for another challenge at Less is More.

Yum, yum, yum!

Now that I have ice cream on the brain, I decided to go with it!
Here's my card:

The sentiment is a combination of words from two Lawn Fawn Stamp sets,
LF454-Year Three and LF1230-Merry Messages.

The ice cream cones are from a Simon Says Stamp Die .
I die cut them out of white cardstock  and colored them with copics.
strawberry- R32, R35, R45
Chocolate - E25, E27, E29
Vanilla   -     E50, E51
Cones   -   E31, E53

The white panel was cut with a die from
Memory Box (stitched rectangles) and mounted with foam tape to
a card front covered with designer paper for a little more interest.

That's it for today!
Now, I'm  going to go get a bowl of ice cream!

Bee Happy

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I was chosen as one of the CTS Favorite's for Sketch #223.
Awesome sauce!

So, now it's time to give Sketch # 224 a try.
Here's what I came up with:
To make the hexagons, I used a water  colored practice scrap.

The black & white stripe is from a MFT 6x6 basics paper pack
The cute Bee is from There She Goes - Bee Happy stamp Set
And of course...Black enamel dots to finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by!
