Magical day

If left to my own choices, I always seem to create totally CAS ( clean and simple)!
so, today I'm playing along with 2 different sketch challenges to help
me get out of my creative rut.

The first one is Sunday Stamps Challenge.

The second one ( scroll down to find it) is The Paper Players.

also playing along with

And since I'm at it , might as well link to
( far there are 440 cards posted! lol)

Here we go with the first card:
My take on it:
I started by using a square of water colored background that  I had laying on my desk .
The other day I was playing with some  Distress Oxide Inks.

Next I added some sweet little fairies ( Lawn Fawn - Fairy Friends),
colored them with Copic Markers and added Wink Of Stella - Clear to the wings.
Last step was to layer this up like the sketch and add a few
crystal sequins for that special Fairy sparkle.

Hope you're inspired to try this fun sketch.

Now, on to sketch2:

Here's what I came up with:

This was a fun sketch to really pushed me out side of my comfort zone!
Here's what I used:
Memory Box - Stitched rectangles
Reverse Confetti - Tag Die
summer treats  printed paper ( source unknown)
Simon Says Stamp - Ice Cream Dream stamp set
Copic Markers
Glossy Accents
yellow cord

 Thanks for stopping by today.

I have to stay off of my left foot for a few days, so shucky darn...guess
that gives me a good reason to stay at my craft desk !

Here's the card I just worked on:

I made this to play along with Splitcoast Stampers' Inspiration Challenge.

You can see it in my Gallery HERE.
My inspiration piece and the supplies I used are listed there .

Time for a new code word from Addicted To Clean and Simple.
Jaydee is our hostess and she chose the code word SUMMERTIME.

Summertime and the living is easy....
sorry, that song just will not get out of my head!!!

Here's my card for some summer inspiration:

Hope you're having some summer fun!

For this card I used Lawn Fawn images and colored them with copics...
arranged them on a kraft colored panel and then popped the whole
thing up with foam tape.

Thanks for looking!

There is a new challenge up on the Double "D" Challenge Blog.
The theme is  TEA and/or COFFEE.
I'm a tea drinker, so I picked tea. Check out the inspiration board:
See those wonderful cookies in the top left photo...that's what inspired me to create this:

I used a really cute Stamp and Die set from Crafter's Companion called "Tea Time".
For this card I just used the Dies. I stacked them up 4 deep to get some dimension
and to make them look like the frosted cookies I used
Enamel Accents by Inkssentials.

I was excited...I've had this in my stash for years and this was the first time I used it!

For the inside I used a cute tea bag image ( a digi stamp, source unknown )

Favorite Color

Today I'd like to share with you a card I made to play along
with a challenge over at The Sisterhood Of Crafters.

Darlene is the hostess and here's what she challenged us to do:

What's YOUR Favorite Color???
(create something using your favorite color)

So here we go:

Lime green is Sooo.. my favorite color, just check out my blog name!

I remember one time when my Grandson Jack was in early elementary school
( I forget exactly what grade) and they drew pictures of their grandma's which were
hung in the hall way on the way to their room.
You could spot the stick figure with the black pants and  lime green shirt
from a mile away!
It was pretty funny!

Here's what I used to make this card:

Impression Obsession  -  die cut sentiment
Cherry Lynn Designs  -  flip flops
MFT Die-namics  -  stitched basic edges
The Cat's Pajamas  -  Apron Border 006

Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate Your Special Day

Today I'm entering my second card in The Paper Players 400th challenge.
( They are limiting the entries to two a person, which I think is a great idea!)
Check them out HERE.
Here's my card:
The background is a resist embossed technique I did awhile ago
when I was watching a Jennifer McGuire video.

Here's what I used to make this card:
Simon Says Stamp-Lattice Grid Background 6x6 stamp
white embossing powder
circle die ( to make my own stencil)
Distress Inks
My Favorite Things - Die-Namics (Celebrate)
Wink Of Stella - clear
Jillibean Soup (Hampton Arts)- Enjoy stamp & die set

I didn't put anything in the inside yet because I figured
it would depend on what they were celebrating
as to what you would say.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping Mr. Random Generator
picks one of my two cards to win a prize!

Time for a new code word from Addicted To Clean and Simple.
It's my honor to be hostess this time
and I chose the word BABY.
 Here's my card:
I love these sweet soft colors...I used distress Inks  with a very light touch!
The stork is from My Favorite Things.
The large scalloped panel was cut from a die by Wplus9 (Sunshine Layers).
The little clouds are cut using a die by Impression Obsession.

I hope this inspires you to join our challenge.

Thanks for looking.

Happy Friday!
Today I'm playing along with The Paper Players 400th challenge
and boy are they celebrating big time with lots of prizes!
Check them out HERE.
Here's the card I made to help them celebrate:
I had fun making this card.
Here's how I got the tiny celebrate words to fit in between the black stripes:
I just cut a strip of the words out of the paper!
(The Paper Studio paper pack called Eat Cake from Hobby Lobby)
How lucky was that...just the right size!
The Panda is a stamp from Fiskars called A Day At The Zoo.
The balloons are a die from Penny Black called Uplifting.
I colored the balloons with Copics, added clear Wink Of Stella and
tied them with Bakers Twine in matching colors.
Popped everything up with foam tape, added some tiny sequins and called it done!

Here's what the inside looks like:

Lots of space to write about whatever you're celebrating!
The Yippee is a die from Waffle Flower.

Thanks so much for looking.

Happy 4th of July !

Before the serious picnic food eating begins,
I had time to make a card !
Thanks to my friend Darlene, I  found a new to me
challenge blog called The Sisterhood of Crafters.
Their theme this time is "Something You Would See/Find In The Sky!

Being the original thinker that I am, I looked out my window and saw the sun!

So, here's my card:
The sun die is from Lil' inker designs.
The clouds and the word sunshine are dies
from a set called sunshine layers made by W plus 9.

I used my Copic marker (Y19 and C2) to add
some detail to the die cuts.

The word sunshine is also layered 4 deep to add dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Rock On!

Happy July!
It's a hot one here in Ohio. It's going into the 90's again today.
I just checked on my phone
and the humidity is 89% ! UGH, that's what makes it hard to breathe.

I'm so glad I've got a lovely air conditioned craft room to play in.

Here's what I made today:

Here's the inside:

I suppose you could use this for a birthday card.
However my thinking was more along the lines of a retirement card.
There's lots of blank space to write your own Happy Retirement message.
I chose the neutral grey so it could work for either a girl or a guy.

Frantic Stamper (rocking chair - 3 die cuts layered together for dimension)
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps -Rock Star!  (rock on sentiment)
inside sentiment - used the computer
Copic Markers - C1, C3 ( for a little shading on the chair)

Challenges entered:
