Dragon Affairs

I want to share a card that I made today.
I started out by using hand made backgrounds that I'd been
making using some Distress Oxide Inks. ( wilted violet, lucky clover and broken china)

I was playing around with some Distress micro glaze from Tim Holtz.
It's supposed to bring a bright finish to the soft colors of the oxide inks.
However I missed the little point of needing to start with glossy (photo) paper.
I was using watercolor paper...well duh!... no wonder my background still looked soft and muted!

It still made a great background for this sweet Dragon from My Favorite Things.

I googled "dragon sayings" and found this, and it really touched my funny bone!

Here's the inside:

Hope it made you smile!

'till next time,

  1. That sentiment rocks! and the bkg is AWESOME!

  2. You did a FABULOUS job with those backgrounds! I too purchased that glaze to give a try and haven't yet done it but thanks for reminding me to use glossy paper when I DO get around to it! Maybe we can work on it together next chance!! That would be fun! Your card is adorable and the colors are great!!! Hope you are doing well!

  3. Love everything about this card. The watercolor is gorgeous and the font and sentiment are cute as can be. That little dragon image is sweet! I just love your card. Congrats!

  4. I love this background - and, it is perfect for that sweet dragon. Or, maybe not so sweet!!

  5. Love this card Doni the background looks great even if the glaze didnt work. I have been thinking of getting some but haven't been able to you. Often delayed here due to people getting in before I even see the latest and buying up stock. I love these dragons and he makes me laugh when I look at the sentiments used, doesnt really look like he's into crunching, more licking I think. Brilliant sentiment.

  6. Gorgeous watercolor background. I love that dragon stamp. Thank you so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge -- Good Luck!
