It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS
and our host Ceal has chosen diamonds as her code word.
Our Sponsor is Happy Little Stampers and as always,
Kylie is offering the winner a generous $20. GC to the store!
Sometimes CAS is not simple! do that is!
I kept thinking diamonds as sparkly gems and I had no stamps or dies
that even came close to that.
So, I was excited when my wayward brain finally thought of the diamond shape.
The rest should be easy, right? Wrong!
I played with different sizes, different layouts, different colors , different techniques,
Whew, my desk and my mojo was a mess.
I gave up, cleaned off my desk and went to lunch.
Chocolate was involved.
When I came back this card went together rather quickly ...must have been the chocolate!

I did try adding some bling, but I didn't like it. what do you think?

Here's what I used:
Spellbinders Nestabilities - classic diamonds
Memory Box - stitched rectangle layers
Distress Oxide Ink - spiced marmalade, picked raspberry, fossilized amber
Paper Smooches - sentiment sampler

Thanks for looking.

Fall Birthday

I love the Fall...I love the cooler weather and the rich colors of the season.

Here's a card celebrating those who have a fall birthday.

I used the newly released stamp set "Fall Friends " from My Favorite Things
and the MFT Die-namics "happy birthday".
Colored with Copic markers.

Here's a closer look:
I layered the die cuts 3 deep to give this simple card some dimension.

I'm entering this in three challenges:

Happy Thanksgiving

Today I'm playing along with
MFT Sketch Challenge #402.
Here's the sketch

I started off by going through my stack of hand made backgrounds.
I came across this background with all these stripes of gorgeous fall colors
that I had made while watching a video of Jennifer McGuire's.
This used distress inks and a masking paper ( a post it note) to make the stripes,
and then of course you sprinkle a little water on it!
I thought this made the perfect background for the little girl sitting on the pumpkin.

The stamps I used are from My Favorite Things new release.
This set is called ' Fall Friends'.
Colored with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by!

Best Friend

I made a birthday card for a friend.

I started by creating a galaxy background with my distress inks.
You can see a video on this technique HERE.

I used the MFT Space Explorer stamp set . After I colored this cute space explorer
and used the die to cut him out, I didn't like all the white space between the balloon strings
so I took my C7 Copic marker and colored in those areas. Then I added just a few tiny white dots
with my Signo uni-ball white pen. It really does look a lot better.

The whole panel was popped up using foam tape.
The sentiment is from the MFT Anything -but-basic friendship stamp set that was just released.
I stamped it with Versamark on black card stock and heat embossed it with
detail white embossing powder.  This sentiment strip was also popped up using foam tape.

I'm am also submitting this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
Time for breakfast....don't ask me why I was wide awake at 5:30 this morning!!

Casing Ksenija

To all of you that celebrate it...Happy Labor Day!

So, this morning I was commenting on the cards in the new
challenge over at Addicted To CAS .
Ksenija is the Guest Designer this time and I fell
in love with her blog, especially this card:

I loved the way the dog looks like he's flying right out of the center frame.

I don't know why, but this made me think of this cute little stamp I got
a while ago from Stampingbella. I hadn't used it yet, so I got her inky today!
This is what I made:

and while I was at it , I did this one too:

Thanks to Ksenija for inspiring me today!

I'm linking this card up over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
The theme is Anything Goes.
