Toasty Greetings!

Hi!
I hope you all are enjoying your last weekend of 2019!

CAS on Friday  is having a Design Team Call,
so...you know how I love clean and simple... this is what I entered:

I think that little penguin is so sweet...no idea why he's looking a little sad today!

To make this card I used the stamp set from My Favorite Things called Toasty Greetings.
First I stamped the penguin on light gold colored cardstock,
then stamped and cut out a mask and put it over the penguin
that way I could stamp the fire and it would look behind the penguin.
I also made a mask and put it over the fire.

With both masks in place, I used post it notes to block off the bottom of the card front.
Then I used blending brushes and Distress inks (Mustard seed, wild honey and ripe persimmon)
in upward strokes to get the fireside glow.

Remove all the masks and color the images and stamp the sentiment and the card is finished.
Oh, and I used a white prismacolor pencil to do the penguin and the marshmallows because
there is no white copic marker.

Thanks for stopping by
and have a
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Doni

Season's Greetings

Hi!
This week challenge #528 at Little Red Wagon
 is all about Christmas.
Time is running short, so today I made a quick and easy
last minute Christmas card.

I made this with some really pretty patterned paper
and a new die from Simon Says Stamp.
To give it a little dimension, I layered the words two deep and
then added some clear Wink Of Stella for a little glitz.
Here's a closer look:

Head on over to The Little Red Wagon
check out what the other girlfriends have made
and  link up your own Christmas card!

Thanks for stopping by.
'til next time,
Doni

Ranger - texture paste
Copic markers

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday

Hi!
Another week has flown by and it´s challenge time again over at Little Red Wagon.
Brenda would like to see lots of birthday cards this week.
Here's mine:

and the inside:

supplies used:
My Favorite Things - Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes
My Favorite Things Die-Namics - skinny stripes-vertical
W plus 9 - Sunshine Layers

Here's a quick tip on how I popped up my three cute little characters
without using foam tape:
Just use the corresponding dies to cut blanks ... glue them together
and wa-la  a nice firm solid thickness under your image.

Thanks for stopping by.
'til next time,
Doni

Hello Bluebird. The stamp set is called Merry Mice.

Boo!

Hi!
It´s Wednesday and time for a brand new Challenge at Little Red Wagon.
The topic chosen by Imke this week is anything scary for Halloween.

So...OK, this little ghost is more cute than scary...but I like him!

Everything on this card came from my  scrap stash.
I remember the background paper is from when  Jennifer and I had the
Scrapbook Shop. That was ten years ago!  Wow, time flies.

Hope you can play along with us this week.

'til next time,
Doni

Retirement

Hi!
It´s  Challenge time over at Little Red Wagon.
The topic chosen by Kate this week Is " Don't forget about me!"
You can make a card along the lines of ...farewell, bon voyage, or retirement...
You get the idea.
Here's what I made:

Pretty easy...but I thought between the style and the colors that it
would work for  either a male or a female.

Here's what I used:
Whimsy Stamps - Happy die cut
computer generated sentiment
matching enamel dots from my stash

Thanks for stopping by.
'til next time,
Doni

Get Well

Hi!
I'd like to share a card with you.
This morning early, I was looking around over at Splitcoast Stampers
and Monday's clean and simple challenge was to make a get well card.

Here's what I came up with:

I am also entering this over at The Paper Players.
Today they are featuring a clean-and-simple challenge by LeAnne.
She requests that we "Say It loud" by making a large sentiment the
focal point of your card.
I think this card fits both of these challenges pretty well!

I used a Paper Smooches - Get well phrase die
and the little flower is from Lawn Fawn.
All the color stripes are scraps.
I started off by making the stripes straight across the card,
but as I was assembling them to see what color to put where
my cat bumped my hand and schooched one side smaller.
I kinda liked it , so i made it look neater and went with it!
stacked three deep for some great dimension.

Thanks for looking!
till next time,
Doni

Birthday Gift Bag

Hi!
My sister-in-law is in town for a visit this weekend.
Her birthday is next week, so I made this to put her present in.
The lettering is really pretty...here's a closer look:

The letters were die cut from some glossy paper that I inked and splattered
using the Happy Birthday Script die from My Favorite Things .

This is perfect for their Birthday Project Challenge this month.
Check it out HERE!

Thanks for looking!
till next time,
Doni

Something Wicked

Hi!
Today I'd like to share a card I made for the Double D Challenges.

The theme is silhouettes and since it's late October
this is what I came up with:

I used the Tree Frame wafer die from Simon Says Stamp and
the sentiment is  from a Studio G stamp that I found at Michaels.
The purple background is from my pile of watercolor messes ( I call them messes because
that's what they look like till you find a place to use them!)

Also entering this over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
where the theme this week is Halloween.

Thanks for looking!
till next time,
Doni

Oh, Nuts!

Hi!
I tried something new today.
Making a long card...one that might fit into a business sized envelope.
I was inspired by the Your Next Stamp Blog.
Their challenge this time is " go long".
Ok...this was fun , but I don't think I'll make too many long cards!

'till next time,
Doni

He's a cutie from My Favorite Things called BB Beary Special Birthday.
Yellow cake with strawberry frosting - YUM!

and here's how I finished the inside:

Sorry, I don't remember where that sentiment came from.
I came across it in my digi file!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi!
Check out Addicted To Stamps Challenge.
For challenge # 178  Sai chose the theme today -- add pumpkin!

Here's what I came up with:

I wanted to try no line coloring, so I stamped this cute little girl sitting on a pumpkin
in Memento Desert Sand ink. I also stamped and cut out a mask of her so that I could add some other pumpkins around her...after all, Sai did say to add pumpkin!  lol
I need lots more practice but like my daughter said "it looks like a painting".

Supplies used:
My Favorite Things - Fall Friends
My Favorite things - Witch way is the candy
Lawn Fawn - Happy Harvest
W plus 9 - Sunshine Layers
Memento - Desert Sand
Memento - rich cocoa
Copic markers

I'm looking forward to seeing what all you all
create by adding pumpkin!

'till next time,
Doni

Healing Hugs

Hi!
It´s Wednesday and time for a brand new Challenge at Little Red Wagon.
The topic chosen by JanR  this week Is " cut it out" !
By that she means use die cuts or fussy cutting.

My card is made using lots of die cuts.
I think it's fun to combine elements from different stamp sets
and different companies to get new looks.

Here's what I used:
Poppy Stamps - Massa Leaf Background
Simon Says Stamp - Healing Hugs
Mamma Elephant - Framed Tags
My Favorite Things - Blueprints #13

Thanks for stopping by.
'til next time,
Doni

Here's the first one:

and a side view, hopefully you can see the dimension a little better:

The next card I made to enter in Double Dee Challenges

Fall is in the air

Hi!
The trees around here are still green, but they will be turning soon.
Today's challenge over at Little Red Wagon is to make a card that is "fall-ish".
I immediately think of fall leaves and since I've had so many people do nice things
for me lately, a thank you card came to mind.

I embossed the background and added a little color with distress ink.
The leaves were die cut from some water colored papers that were in my stash.
The die I used was from Impression Obsession.
The Thanks is from Simon Says Stamp
and I used 4 of them adhered together to give the needed dimension.

I used a Stampin' Up stamp on the inside:

Thanks for looking.
I'm also entering in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
You can find that one HERE.

'til next time,

About this time last year, I ordered this cute little stamp
and today was the first time I used It.

I actually made three cards. The first one is a box card:

and here's the other two:
These were really fun to make, and since I colored and fussy cut a ton of candy corns
I have a lot left over to make even more cards.
