LRW Challenge #578 - Winter Birthday

 Hi there!

It´s Wednesday and time for a brand new Challenge at Little Red Wagon.

 I'm  the hostess this week.

I would like to see your cards that celebrate a WINTER BIRTHDAY.

While I was on a roll I also made this one:

For the snow I used a stencil from Simon Says Stamp and Nuvo Glimmer paste.
You can see the texture and sparkle better against the blue but it looks just as pretty on the white IRL.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the little house is a die from SSS.

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Tags

Hi!
Happy Wednesday, every body!
Imke is our hostess  for challenge #577  at Little Red Wagon this week.
She would like to see us get prepared for Christmas.

I chose to get started on making Christmas gift tags.

These are smaller tags ( around 3/4 inch ) perfect for little gift bags.
I used stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn (Tiny Tag Sayings)

For a bigger gift bag I made this one:

This tag from Pretty Pink Posh measures 3 inches across.
The little snowman is from Lawn Fawn.

I can't even imagine what Christmas will be like this year....
doesn't look like we'll be able to have our big family get together.

In any event, I'll be sure to keep Christmas in my heart.

Thanks for looking.

I was lucky enough to find this really old stamp from Art Impressions,
so word art it is!

This is what I put on the inside...also an Art Impressions stamp.

Hope you can join us this week.

Hi!

Added a die cut tree ( Sizzix Thinlits) and stamped the greeting using  Momento Rich Cocoa ink.

BOO!

Happy Wednesday, every body!
The Challenge at Little Red Wagon this week is all about Halloween.

The best part of crafting this time of year
is that there is a big bowl of Halloween candy near by.

For this challenge I made a cute little box card:

More cute than scary...but a lot of fun to make!

Get yourself some of your favorite candy to snack on and have fun creating!
I can't wait to see what you all make.

"B" things

Hi!
Happy Wednesday, every body!
Imke is our hostess  for challenge #572  at Little Red Wagon this week.
She would like to see cards about things that begin with a "B".

I chose Blue Butterflies:
I  started by white embossing two butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp
set from My Favorite Things onto watercolor paper. ..added some blue  watercolor paint
and cut them out. I added some Wink of Stella for some sparkle, but that doesn't show up in a photo.
The die cut script is from Pretty Pink Posh.

I can't wait to see what everyone else makes this week!

Magical

Hi!
Kate is our hostess  for challenge #571 at Little Red Wagon this week.
Kate says "It's Magical" and so would like to see anything to do with magic,
or fantasy, or make believe.

I can't think of anything more magical than a cute little Gnome reading a magic book
while sitting on a mushroom...so here he is:

and it opens up to be an easel card.
The message says...Books don't just go with you, they take you where you've never been.

The stamp is from Stampingbella.

Thanks for looking.

I used a wreath die from Impression Obsession and a die from Poppy

called Goofy Halloween Decor for the bat, skull, and owl.

The background paper is from my stash...who knows how old !

The words are from a stamp set called Halloweenies from Paper Smooches.

Digi Do!

Hi!
Happy Wednesday, every body!
Today's  challenge (Digi Do) is to use a digital stamp.

My favorite digital character is Birdbrain, created by Faith Skrdla.
Sadly, Faith has passed away.  Her digital art work is no longer available,
so to honor her I made this card featuring Birdbrain.

Ah, yes!...a bubble bath is a great stress reliever!

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you can have some fun this week with digital stamps.

It's my turn to host the challenge this week at Little Red Wagon.

Here's the supplies:

The word YOU is a die cut from Avery Elle and the sentiment
is from My Favorite Things.

If you want more inspiration be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

FALL

HI! Happy Friday!

Today it is supposed to reach 90 degrees in my part of the world. I'm thankful for my air conditioning, however I am looking forward to the 'nip' in the air that comes with Fall.

So, that thought is what inspired me to make this card for the MFT Color Challenge 147.

Here's the colors

 I used:

MFT - Hooray Kind of Day

MFT Harvest Mouse

MFT - Fall Friends

and

MFT Die-Namics - Wonky Stitch Rec Stax

Thanks for stopping by.

Goodbye!

Hi!
Imke is our hostess  for challenge #562 at Little Red Wagon this week.
Her challenge is to make a card that conveys the idea of goodbye...
like retirement, from school, moving, saying goodbye to a season...etc.

So.... I was coming up blank until I came across this Alligator!

He is SO saying Goodbye!

The green card front was cut from some leftover watercolor practice.
The Alligator is a stamp from Rubbernecker.
I colored him with Prismacolor pencils because on the rough texture
of the paper I thought it made his skin look "Alligator-ish"!

Thanks for looking.

Backgrounds

Hi!
Brenda is our hostess  for challenge #560 at Little Red Wagon this week.
She would like us to make our own background paper by stamping,  smooshing,
paper piecing ....or as in my case...doing a little water coloring.

To create this background sky I tapped some distress ink ( broken china)
onto my glass mat..or you could use an acrylic block ..
spritzed it with water and then picked the color up with my paintbrush and
dabbed it in the left top corner of the paper...wa-la... sky!
The cute little clouds are Lawn Cuts ( simple Puffy Cloud Frames)
with some vellum behind them.
The cute bunny and the sentiment are from Casual Fridays Stamps,
colored of course with copics .
Both the bunny with his balloon and the sentiment strip are popped up with foam tape.

Thanks for looking.
'till next time,
Doni

Fantasy

It's hard to believe that we're half way through the month of July already.
But here we are and it's my turn to host the challenge this week at Little Red Wagon
I chose the theme "FANTASY"
so bring on your Dragons, Fairies, Mermaids, Gnomes ...
or in my case...Unicorns!
But most of all, have some FUN!

It's hard to see in the photo, but all the images are loaded with glitter...
because glitter is magical!
I used the stamp set from Mama Elephant.

Thanks for stopping by!

Embossing

Hi!
Imke is our hostess  for challenge #557 at Little Red Wagon this week.
She would like to see embossing, either heat or dry.
So, being the overachiever that I am ( ha-ha) I chose to do both!

For the background I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder
and for the flowers (Pretty Pink Posh-Wild Rose) I used VersaMark
and gold embossing powder on cream colored vellum.
The sentiment is from StampinUp - Rose Wonder.

Thanks for looking.

Wink of Stella on the hat, bow tie and balloon
and some sequins to a little bling finish this card.

Donuts

Hi!
I played along with a Splitcoast Stampers challenge
and made this:

I did the no line coloring technique where you stamp the image with a very light colored ink.
I used Hero Arts Shadow Ink - soft sand and colored with my Copic Markers.

Here's a real close up:
I like the way it turned out, However it took me about four hours to color it!
Don't think I'll be making a bunch of them!!!!

Thanks for looking.

Ink Blended Backgrounds

Hi!
Imke is our hostess  for challenge #552 at Little Red Wagon this week
and she's challenging us to use patterned paper or to create
our own background paper.

This week I did a "twofer"

I did some Distress Ink blending.
On the left I blended  twisted citron, squeezed lemonade, and carved pumpkin
from left to right and then sprinkled some water on it.
The pink background is pickled raspberry bottom to top giving it an ombre look.
On this one I sprinkled some water but then I also made a  watery puddle of ink on an
acrylic block, dipped a little brush in it and splattered some pink ink.
Hope you like them... I made a mess on my desk and had fun!
to finish  I used the Hooray die from Honey Bee Stamps
and Greeting from Happy Hippos by MFT.

Thanks for stopping by.
'til next time,
Doni

sympathy card

Hi!
Today I found a new (to me) challenge
This is a Hero Arts Sketch Challenge.

This was the sample card:

I totally fell in love with this card, so I pretty much kept the same idea,
substituting  her flower for the daisies in the Hero Arts stamp set called In My Garden.
And I used the sentiment from the Hero Arts set called Remember.

So, here's what I came up with:
I used gold embossing powder and then added a little gold glitter to the flower centers.

Thanks for looking.
'til next time,
Doni
